Gaytten's Galliano

Here it is Bill Gaytten's moment as the designer behind John Galliano. We all know what happened earlier this year with Galliano being accused of spewing some anti-Semitic comments in public. Due to these accusations, Galliano was removed as creative director of Dior and form his own brand. Now whatever your feelings are on this issue, c'est la vie. I was nervous to see both the Dior and Galliano shows because I think John was one design geniuses of our time. The future of both brands is still shaky, Dior is yet to announce a successor for Galliano, coming off the tails of a "not so great" couture show.

Absolutely STUNNING craftmenship

Some Galliano flare!

Gaytten did a pretty good job with the collection. He definitely toned down the Galliano dramatics, and focused on placing his stamp on the brand more subtly. Galliano grand allure was missed from the runway but Gaytten took it an interesting direction. There were rounded sleeves, rounded shoulders and a cute dainty feel to the garments. Dainty is for sure the word to use for Gaytten but he kept Gallino alive. If this show was an indication of anything, it was that these are trusting hands for the Gallino brand to be left in that's for sure.
