Katrantzou Nature

If you've been reading, you know we love prints here! I find myself always looking forward to seeing what Katrantzou is going to send down the runway. Apart from a select few there isn't anyone who can quite put together color, futuristic print, sculpture and nature all in one garment like Katrantzou. Sticking with one base color from head to toe this time the coloring just blended into each other perfectly.
The peplum a great trend carrying in from the past season made a great appearance on this runway. The stand out piece for me was the finale garment. A selection of some great fall colors, a great sculpted peplum over top of a pant. Katrantzou definitely knows her niche as do we but this collection honed in on all her expertise and married them perfectly!

Issa Print Play

Loving the print play here! If you know me, you know I love a great print! So for me for the majority of the collection it was a home run! Plenty of fly-away easy breezy material which is great. I was not too sure what was going on with the leggings under each ensemble I was not really loving that look. The last section of the collection seemed a little like an after thought to me however it was a fabulous one! I loved the intricate frills and beading, a great homage to the 20s. I feel like this could have been two separate collections. But nonetheless this collection is sure to be flying off the shelves! Not to mention probably seen on the Duchess of Cambridge herself.

Jewlery Designer Shourouk!

Style Eternity recently had the privilege of interviewing the extremely talented designer of Shourouk! The Parisian-Tunisian designer's creations are each extremely unique and beautiful. Before launching her own label the designer created jewels for Chloe, Galliano and Cavalli. Take a look at the one-of-a-kind pieces on net-a-porter

How has your heritage as Tunisian influenced your style ?
Being a native from Nabeul, a city famous for its embroidery knowledge, I’ve learned techniques there and have always find the traditionnal Tunisian garment really inspiring.

What pushed you to start your own jewelry line ?
I’ve always wanted to start my own company, then when I began realizing  embroideries for ChloĆ© and Galliano, I knew that my dream was just ahead of me. It gave me the urge to start my jewelry line using the knowledge I learned in embroidery for garments, introducing it in accessories.

Your pieces are each extremely unique. Who or what inspires you ?
I get inspired by many things, born in Paris, I feel like a true parisian girl, I like the classicism of the city mixed with the big melting-pot of cultures you find in each area. I am also  travelling a lot for my work and I’ve always been inspired by the Indian culture. As a child, I discovered the Bollywood movies, the colors, the rich outfits, the amazing choregraphy then as a grown up I went to India, and felt in love with this contrasted country. From the Maharadjas palaces to the shanty town, inspiration is always around the corner, they have a proper kitsch culture combine to a rich history, which is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for a designer.

What advice would you give to those aspiring to be in the fashion industry ?
Be curious, open-minded, stand for what you are as the designer, make the best out of any experiences you’ll get and when you design something don’t be shy, just go for it !

What words do you think every girl should live by ?
Always live with a twist of craziness.

What are some future plans for the brand that we should be looking out for ?
We’re currently working on a two exciting projects with Net a porter and Shanghai Tang! So be sure to hear from us in the next few months !

Amazing Creativity its Insane

Proenza Schouler I am lost for words which doesn't happen all too often. The boys at Proenza just pushed the boundaries with this collection! They explored new textures, new leather weaving and some great color combinations. Aside from the great weaving they did, they redefined the silhouette. They created a looser silhouette one where the garments kind of floated on the body, the body became irrelevant.
The handwork on each of these pieces is just outstanding. Weaving, embroidery, all around the boys of Proenza Schouler have just reached the stages of excellence.
