Pre-Fall Burberry

Being that I frequently think I was born in the wrong era, this collection gives me the tingles! Inspired by the World War times of the thirties, Christopher Bailey brings your pre-fall. The thirties was a great time for female empowerment, functional clothing yet keeping the femininity. Bailey gives us this with his use of bows, and a romantic female silhouette. He adds that youthful edge with a printed sweater reoccurring throughout.

Bailey stuck to a somber palette for this collection, reflecting the time period of war-torn London in the thirties. A little of the 2000s crept up in the show-stopping gowns that brought the collection to a finale.

Burberry shoe lovin

Last year the Burberry Prorsum show not only had amazing garments but great shoes. The previous shows also had sort of this African tribal thing going on in the footwear as well. I would love to be walking down the street in these!

Burberry Prorsum

Aaaaand another one bites the tribal dust! Bailey was on the trend train as usual, and brought us a tribal, ethnic themed collection. We have seen this theme on many runways this season, DKNY to name one. The colors were reminiscent of desert hues, with a sultry tone laid over the strong original color. Mustard yellow, and dusty oranges and blues.  There was a great a many peak-a-boo moments with the forties signature right past the knee mid-calf dresses. A difference this season? The parka was in the spotlight.
I really don't think Christopher Bailey is capable of doing wrong, this show proves that!

Burberry Prorsum

Oh Christopher Bailey! I am convinced daily of your genius. Bailey did what he did best, kept up the Burberry tradition with a twist of bold and youthful. He stuck to the traditional trench coat but broke it up with bursts of yellow, azure, and emerald green.

The garments are absolutely gorgeous that is no doubt. Take a glance at the shoes! An amazing tribal twist to a colorful, clean, crisp, conservative yet bold collection.

Seriously, just when you think there is nothing new that Bailey can do with the brand he manages to break that notion with every season. Burberry is definitely back to the mainstream, and Bailey an unstoppable force at its head.
