Karl never fails

The world is definitely a dark place and Karl wants to make sure we know it! However, Lagerfeld wanted to convey some sort of optimism having his models walk into a white light at the end of the runway. The designs were urban, utilitarian, dark, and edgy. the color palette was very "shadowy" with heavy use of dark grays, black, reds, etc.

Shapes were knew, they were kind of over-sized, manly, and a bit of a "boxy" look. The jackets were very sharply constructed with rounded shoulders. Lagerfeld brought a re-emphasis on a new understanding of the jumpsuit.

Materials looks sort of "damaged" portraying this weird sense of a "grunge" fairy tale. Reminicisent on the dark mind of Tim Burton movies, there was something hauntingly beautiful about the garments. Lagerfeld married high fashion with street fashion perfectly with this collection.
