There could truly not have been a more perfect person to continue McQueen's legacy. This show was Burton reassuring the world that she is not going to change anything of the McQueen aesthetic but that it is simply her design style as well. The collection was "icy". It mixed beautifully the frigid ice-woman with a soft pureness in the use of a lot of white and fur.
The collection was head-to-toe couture, and left very little to be worn in the real world. This wasn't the point of the collection however, it simply was the stand on its own as art. The beauty that was the last 4 pieces was simply breathtaking. Burton does harbor McQueen's sense of the unique however, in the gown made up of broken china and finished with organza.
It seems to be that before a McQueen show the world is holding its breath. Burton quickly reminds us all the breathe as she just simply did an absolute amazing job.
