Love what you do!

I don't want to sound all cliche and but seriously you gotta love what you do or your not going to get anywhere! We just had seven whole days of shooting a catalog and look book at work, long days, crazy hours, but loved every second of it! Basically, what I am trying to say is, love what you do, do what you love!

Tisci's Winner

They say this is one Tisci's best collections yet, I don't know if it was the absolute best but is sure was  amazing! The key word for Riccardo this season was: tailoring, and a lot of it. Tisci brought in this play on the masculine and feminine with the manly-ish equestrian style played with the peplum (that are everywhere this season. The color palette was kept tight to neutrals and blacks however the pops of red were greatly welcomed.

My favorite element was the play on the opposites. Feminine and masculine, dainty and heavy, and dark and bright. The full, busy frocks hanging from a dainty thin little strap. The black mixed in with the bright, rich vibrant reds, stunning Tisci! I heart for sure!

Label Love: Maurie & Eve

How this label has been around since 2004 and this is the first I come across it? I have no idea. Maurie & Eve is brought to us by a trio of Aussie designers. More and more there seems to be some incredible talent down under! Maurie and Eve's pieces are all fashion forward yet extremely wearable! they have a very unique way of placing together fabric and color creating a beautiful end product. Who knew, they are available in the US, Japan, New Zealand, UK and Canada? Take a look at a few outfits I have come to love. Click here for the full lookbook.

Free People in Vietnam

Free People headed off to Vietnam to shoot their March lookbook and it is amazing! The contrast between the easy breezy clothes and the rundown exotic location is breathtaking. Photographed by Joshua Allen and Thomas Northcut. This is a sure way to make your lookbook stand out.

Gucci Romance

I know it has been absolutely FOREVER since I posted up a review but hey life got in the way, in a BIG way. Anyway back with the fashion, I am starting with Gucci. I know this show was a while ago and you probably all have seen plenty of reviews for it but... Frida Giannini is my new hero and I cannot pass up reviewing this stunner of a collection!

She has had show stopper collections one after the other and this season, Frida turns the tables. There was something of a dark romanticism, it was dark it was dreary but it was beautiful. The color palette revolved around blacks, dark browns, plum and a splash of royal green. the romance came in with the loose shapes, the rich tapestry and the sea of velvet. For me this show was a signal of a new woman, a woman I wanna be! She was soft in her fabric, dark in her colors and strong through the menswear influence. The Gucci woman this season is soft, feminine but strong and powerful. What an amazing combination.

My jaw just about dropped to the floor when the evening-wear came rolling out. All I could think about was if Tim Burton and Gucci were stuck in a room that is what would have come walking out. Definite show stopper gowns, its a brave and daring woman who walks out in those. No doubt that these will be doing the red carpet and socialite circuit as soon as they are off the runway.

In case you didn't catch on I am in love with this!
